Future Vintage. Bringing the tropical fashion heat from Byron Bay Australia, outta the Future Vintage vision of our homie Sean Stickley. Straight Lordin’

These T’s, Tanks and Boardies are all cut n sew and really capture the feel of Future Vintage for me.

This summer’s collection has expanded to include custom button ups, cardigans as well as the introduction of FV Leather.

The tropical feel is nicely juxtaposed with a late 80s early 90s fashion feel.

Sean has also created some nice accessories to compliment the line – scarves, leather belts and jewelry such as this pendant.

FUTURE VINTAGE
N.Potash @ NY Adorned

My brother, Nick Potash, has been crafting some amazing jewelry lately and was picked up by one of the premier jewelry boutique/tattoo parlor in New York – New York Adorned. They recently featured an interview with him on their site and its worth reading – heres an excerpt:
“Where do you draw your inspiration from: Old things have always been better in my mind. I like to think that someone could pick up one of my pieces and think it was really ancient and wonder what it had seen in its life. That’s one thing about jewelry which drew me to working with metal, my creations are going to outlast all of us, no question. They might be lost to the sea or time but they will take millions and millions of years to decompose. This brings up thoughts about mortality, how a ring could have seen ten lifetimes before finding its way onto your finger…. these ideas make my mind wonder and imagination fire. I recently became aware that Nietzsche, Jung, and Freud all talk about archetypal symbols speaking to a primitive part of peoples’ mind. I’ve experienced this before at a museum as a kid, I remember seeing these old masonic crests and relief carvings and being completely fascinated by them. The skulls, eyes, pyramids, and weird symbols I’d never seen before made me go crazy with thoughts about secret societies and ancient wisdoms. I try and tap into that same vein when I work. I like to think that on a beach somewhere out there a vacationing hipster lost one of my rings and it was found by some local kid who thought he’d found pirate treasure and always told the story that way.”

Nick crafts everything by hand, here in Venice Beach, using traditional 100% hand crafted methods.

This was my belated birthday present – well worth the wait!!! 1/1 Poseidon’s Posse Bronze Pendant set with an antique scrimshaw and 2 black diamonds. Silver Chain.

Im the one with the black jeans and white Rockers shirt…
Big Ups to Sean and Megs.

& the ladies that intrigue us…
A behind the scenes look at our “girls that intrigue us” lookbook shoot. We didn’t want to use models, but instead chose a few of our friends who are also involved in fashion. Mallyce, Michelle and Natalia have all developed their own unique style and also are involved on the ground level of clothes and fashion today. Michelle is the production manager for Pastelle, Ransom, and Diamond Supply Co.’s apparel. Natalia has her own jewelry line, n.om, which is killing it, and Mallyce designs and runs, the high end fashion line LAEKEN.

trench coats -> burberry -> coats

My first association with the trench coat was my middle school latin teacher, Magister Stancell. He was a former Las Vegas investigative reporter in the 60′s, and regularly wore a Burberry trench. Unfortunately in high school, the school shooting incidents gave the coats a creepy “trench coat mafia” association. Over the last few years I have started to re-appreciate the trench coat for its classic design, equal parts form and function. Burberry, the house behind the trench, created this amazing example for Liberty of London in honor of the 25th anniversary of London fashion week. I love the tailored cut, the leather wrapped buckle on the collar detailing and the classic Burberry plaid reinterpreted in a subtle purple and back colorway. Even if you’re in London this friday when it’s released good luck finding one, as they’re an individually numbered run of 25.
Although, I loved the jacket, I wasn’t sure about posting it until I saw the Burberry Black Label A/W 09 collection (from a Popeye jp editorial spread.) Burberry is definitely killing it with the coats this season. Unfortunately, this is their Japan only collection and will probably be equally hard to get your hands on.
