I’ve wanted to go to SXSW for the last few years.

I’ve never been to Texas, and in my post Coachella world, the idea of checking out a bunch of live music in random little venues sounded magical. Heading into Austin last week, I knew there would be a few unexpected highlights. For me the best surprise was walking into the Windish Showcase to see Lee Fields & the Expressions belting out one of the most powerful and heartfelt sets I’ve ever seen. It was the first time witnessing a real Soul performance and I’m now a firm believer.
