Growing up in the glory days of West Coast hip hop Mr. NWA, Ice Cube was always bangin out jams. Moving on in his career, he wrote and starred in the classic Friday and its sequels, as well as a personal favorite Three Kings; we’ll forget Anaconda and some of the other family comedies, Cube’s always been a hustler.

Cube’s new album I Am the West is “a record that should be anticipated. The lyrics are fire, the beats are right, and it’s West Coast hip-hop without any apologies.”
“The West Coast has been trying to figure out ‘What does the industry want from us?’ for the last 12 years,” he continued. “No more figuring out: We do what we wanna do. And people are gonna like it or not.” (Cube via MTV.com)

Cube’s rockin the black ALAMEDA fedora in the video and on the cover of the single for his new album – “I Rep That West.” Check out this behind the scenes look as they shoot the video at iconic LA locales.

REP THAT WEST
gone surf about…
Sorry, Ive been in paradise lost aka Byron Bay aka the land of lords, swords and sport for the last 11 days with no internet. Its been refreshing and frustrating. I have a wealth of pics and vids to share with you soon. Until then, check this pic of Kevo, in the TAC, and Joaquin both lookin pretty creepy at the Banksy premier. Of course this went down – literally across the alley from Ampal HQ – when I was gone, but glad some of da boys made it out for it.

Past Pluto, out of our solar system… the 12th Planet
Just saw this video of our good homie 12th Planet rockin the Charcoal Quattro Fedora from our last collection. Its seen countless abuse on tour with him yet still looks pretty damn good.
If you’re in LA, you’re in luck, Scion is hooking you up with one of their epic house parties tomorrow night featuring 12th Planet and other dubstep heavies @ The Roxy.
Or you can download the Scion Smog (12th’s crew) Sampler for free from our buddies over at Media Contender.
Deus Ex Machina

Yesterday I made it to the hallowed ground of motorcycles, track bikes, surfboards, coffee, and riding gear, that is Deus Ex Machina. You may remember Deus from the epic surf/moto trip, Lovers Land, that we covered a while back, or from this amazing build. Unfortunately I forgot my camera battery (DUH!) in the charger so enjoy these screengrabs and check their site for more info.

How rad is this 50? Untouchable coolest kid on the block status with one of these.

Most of their bikes have dope hand painted and pinlined tanks.

This pic is for my dad – 1959 Frejus with a full Campy set – the same thing he was rocking around the bowery decades ago… cost? they said pretty much priceless.

Deus has been really expanding their apparel line lately and its looking great.
